Introducing Proverbs

"The Proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel: To know wisdom and instruction, to perceive the words of understanding, to receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, judgment, and equity; to give prudence to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion- A wise man will hear and increase learning, and a man of understanding will attain wise counsel, to understand a proverb and an enigma, the word of the wise and their riddles." - Proverbs 1:1-6

This is the introduction of Proverbs gives us the reasons for there even being a book of Proverbs. If we are reading through the book of Proverbs we will know wisdom and instruction and we will also learn justice, judgment, and equity. In essence we will be learning of the character of God. This book will teach caution and it will help the youth not to falter. If we are wise we will take these words to heart and seek to learn more. We will attain wise counsel and seek to understand the things given to us in this book. This book is a guide for everyday life and it will help us to live a better life.
