Dieing for Love

On the way home from the store today I was thinking. My thoughts kept flitting from one subject to the next without any seeming coherence. As they swirled around in my head I began to sing about God working in my life. Then it hit me. Dieing for someone else. I think in some ways it is kind of tossed about, "I would die for that person." What does that mean? Complete strangers die for eachother. God died for me; would I die for Him? The breakthrough occured God calls us to die for Him daily. Every day we are to die to self. That is what love is about; it is about dieing to self. When we love someone we die to self for them. Their needs become more important than our own. We need to die daily for others for that is the very character of Christ. I want that and I hope you do too.
"For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God." - Colossians 3:3
"Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 2:4,5
